A prospecting work has carried out on all 76 inhabited islands of the archipelago in order to verify the feasibility and build a “pipeline” of wave energy projects.

The prospecting made it possible to simulate the producible, that is to say the quantify of energy likely to be produced by wave energy at a given location.

From this prospecting emerged a strong potential for 15 projects spread over different islands. These projects can range from 500 KW to 5MW of producible. 

We divided them into 3 categories:

• Projects in Tahiti : the island consuming the most electricity
• Projects on islands where consumption is high
• Projects on islands where consumption us moderately high 

30 smaller projects were also identify.

The design and sizing of projects vary according to the geographical location and size of the islands (population and electricity consumption). Therefore, the concepts will be different depending on the categories.
